Meet the Team

DIRECTOR
The director is the person in charge. The director will hold a three or four year university early childhood teaching qualification. All aspects of the effective day-to-day operation of the centre rely on the director. They have a wide range of teaching and managerial skills in relation to:

  • Supporting familiees by providing high quality education and care
  • Overseeing the development, implementation and evaluation of the curriculum
  • Implementing sound policies and high quality practicies
  • Supporting, mentoring and managing staff
  • Supporting staff growth - prfessional development
  • Promoting a sense of community withun the centre
  • Marketing the centre and C&K to the wider community.

Qualifications: Bachelor Early Childhood Ed. 1994
Diploma Teaching Early Childhood 1988
Registered Teacher (ECE) Board of Queensland
Senior First Aid Certificate

Linda has worked in Early Childhood approx. 16 years (10 years in South Australia and 6 years in Queensland). She commenced her role here in April 2003. Her position is full time. She has 3 children and a husband Martin. She enjoys going to the beach with her family, reading, walking & scrapbooking.

I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to our Community Kindergarten. This centre is were magical learning can happen. Friends are made, often for life. Imagination is ignited and extended. Curiosity is aroused through all senses. Individuals are valued and catered for in our play based C&K "Building waterfalls" curriculum. Families and staff working closely together contribute to our success as a leading provider of Early Childhood education in Bundaberg. EARLY CHILDHOOD TEACHER
The Bundaberg Community Kindergarten employs university qualified early childhood teachers who are registered with the Queensland college of Teachers. The early childhood teacher develops and implements an educational program in collaboration with children and families. At this centre the Director plays a dual role as an early childhood teacher.

ASSISTANT
Assistans work with a specific group of children, supporting the teacher in implementing the care and education program. Assistans will hold, or be studying towards an early childhood certificate/qualification.

ADDITIONAL NEEDS ASSISTANT
Sometimes an additional needs assistant is employed to help facilitate the inclusion of a child with additional needs into the enviroment. The additional needs assistant may hold a variety of qualifications including an early choldhood certificate or human services qualification.
